Each year, just after Thanksgiving, the Gates Building comes alive with holiday decorations. Partly in the great spirit of Christmas, and partly in the greater spirit of cold, fierce competition. In 2004, the Third Floor had the formidable task of defending its spectacular 2003 title, and aimed to be the first repeat winner in the history of the contest.

The theme they chose - around which they would build their magnificent display of art and technology - was Candyland. What could be more perfect and pure than our favorite childhood game? Just look at the picture... it's all about little kids playing nice and holding hands...
